Alright kids, the Visored are here, and they have their very own secret character! He’ll be appearing in the next quiz, along with Karakura Town’s secret dude. Have fun, don’t flame, and if you have criticisms, do me a favor and shoot me a message ;)

A Scrapbook That Says "Background"

 

Following the fiasco in Soul Society and Aizen’s betrayal, you were happy to have a brief vacation from the insanity that was your family. Unfortunately, they insisted on coming along—even Gran. She’d mentioned something about ‘netting you a man’, which had frightened you immensely, but while you were vacationing in the human world you figured you’d try to relax.

Flying into the airport, you were in a fantastic mood. The window had a perfect view of the river and the sprawling city below, so you weren’t bored, despite Gran snoring uproariously on your shoulder, her dentures in a cup of water in front of her.

Now, however, you are on your own, exploring Karakura Town after your siesta in Soul Society. Your family is the only one you know of that is allowed to move between the human world and the land of the dead without consequences, and it’s mainly because your ancestors have been allies with the Shinigami since before there even was a Gotei 13.

Everything looks the same as it always has, until you run smack into a forcefield.

This must be the Visoreds’ hideout, you realize, getting to your feet. Gran had mentioned that a while back there had been some problems with Shinigami turning into Hollows, and a few of the Shinigami you knew had disappeared. One in particular, your mind prompted with false sweetness, before you told it to shut up.

“Hey, sugar, whatcha doin’ out there?” Gran’s voice says, as she materializes behind the barrier and beckons you in. Her loud Hawaiian shirt and baggy teal shorts almost blind you. “Come on in!” She catches you by the arm before you can run and pulls you through. You feel a moment of resistance, then you pop through.

“Gran? Where are we?”

“This is the Visored hideout. You remember those Shinigami that disappeared?” She leads you by the hand towards an enormous warehouse. “They have Hollow powers—they’re all very strong.”

“As strong as you?”

“Not quite,” Gran says with a grin. “I’ve arranged for us to play a little game with the men, because I think it’s about time you got married—or at least got kissed.”

“Gran!” You shriek, your face igniting a fiery crimson. “I’ve been kissed!”

“But you ain’t married, are you?”

You resist the urge to punch your grandmother, because you are well aware she could and would break you in half. “What kind of a game?” You ask apprehensively, although somewhere in your mind you already know.

“Ten Minutes in Heaven! That nice boy, Keigo, told me all about it.”

Note to self: Kill Asano.

“…and so I got the eligible men together and asked them to give me something of theirs. It’s all in here.” She shows you an enormous black trash bag.

You’re about to reply when Gran yanks the door of the warehouse open and you see the other players—Love Aikawa, Rojuro Otoribashi, Shinji Hirako, and Kensei Muguruma. It’s been almost a hundred years since you’ve seen them, maybe more. You try not to look stupid as an overly cheerful Gran leads you over to the four. “Well, here she is! I told you my granddaughter was a cutey!” She pinches your cheek and your face goes numb from a combination of pain and embarrassment.

Shinji gives you his usual smirk; Love nods to you, draped over a couch looking supremely comfortable; Rojuro gets up and walks towards you while Kensei snorts and leans back in an armchair.

Gran hands Rose the giant black trash bag and turns to you. “I’ll be the official time-keeper. Have fun!”

You look from face to face, and suddenly hope a bolt of lightning would strike you just then. He’s here, your mind says softly. Let’s hope you pick him. 

"Pull something out of the bag," Rose says encouragingly.
